How To Turn An Aluminum Knob On A Metal Lathe
In this video, I show you how to turn a knob from aluminum on a metal lathe. This is my first machining project, so please be kind in the comments if I used incorrect terminology! I think the knob turned out pretty nice and I can't wait to hone my skills on the metal lathe. I'm thinking a metal shifter knob might be next! If you want to try and mimic this knob, the rough dimensions are as follows:
- 24mm at knob pull
- Tapers to 18mm for stem
- Total length is 30mm
